ALL BACK TO MY PLACE

PAUL CARELLA

What music are you currently grooving to?
I LOVE Jack White’s "No Name" album and loving The Jesus Mary Chain’s "Live at St Andrews Hall 1987" (from Third Man Records' 40th Anniversary vault edition of "Psychocandy").

What, if push comes to shove, is your all-time favorite album?
I think I’d have to say "Nebraska" by Bruce Springsteen. Been my favourite album of Springsteen’s for years but I have to mention the likes of "Sam’s Town" by The Killers, "The Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance and "One By One" by the Foo Fighters. I’m sure after I send this I’ll think of another one, lol.

I was about to press send and I’m changing my answer to "Southeastern" by Jason Isbell, monster album, I adore it.

What was the first record you ever bought? And where did you buy it?It was a single by Crowded House ("Don't Dream It's Over") and it was in a little music shop somewhere in Ayrshire, a very long time ago.

What do you sing in the shower?
I don’t.

Which musician, other than yourself, have you ever wanted to be? Name them!I’ve ever actually wanted to be anyone else, rather more that I wanted to be in the position of some of my favourites. For instance, Freddy Mercury with Queen at Wembley in 1985 doing call and answer with the audience or Elvis performing to 1.5 billion people from Hawaii.
What's your favorite Saturday night record?
I don’t think I’ve had one of these since my clubbing days, Saturday Nights are now watching Gladiators and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, . I’m going to go with "People" by Hothouse Flowers though, such a fantastic band/record.
Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House
Welcome To The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
Better Together - Jack Johnson
People - Hothouse Flowers
All My Life - Foo Fighters
Read My Mind - The Killers
A Message From the Fairies - Bluey The Album
Can't Help Falling In Love - Aloha From Hawaii
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen At Live Aid
And your Sunday Morning Record?
That’s easy, it’s still Jack Johnson’s "In Between Dreams", it’s the perfect Sunday tempo album………...or Bluey the Album, in fact Bluey the Album should be my answer for all of the above. (It’s actually a brilliant album, "A Message From The Fairies" is my favourite track on there.
